Early Bird Reception
Shake off that workweek stress at our Early Bird Reception. This informal gathering guarantees a welcoming group of friends and colleagues—both old and new—for conference attendees who come into Austin on Friday. Drop in, get comfortable, and gear up for a weekend of fellowship and learning.

Opening Session (Saturday, June 21, 7:45-9 a.m.)
Saturday morning starts off with some wisdom and inspiration from a group of our Past Presidents. Margret Montgomery, Virginia Collier, Juneria Berges, Barbara Sultis, Shirley Coleman, Vicki Thomas, and Nancy Vaughan share some special memories of TCWSE over the years, highighting the "connectedness" of our members and what that special bond means to all members in their personal and professional lives.

Résumé Reviews

Forget those intimidating sessions that leave you unsure of yourself and your plans. TCWSE’s very own founder, Margret Montgomery, gives “résumé review” a whole new meaning. Sign up when you arrive at the conference for this opportunity to gain a fresh understanding of how to put your best foot forward and make your résumé rise above the crowd. This is a must-do session for administrators heading up the career ladder. You must bring a copy of your résumé in order to sign up for a one-on-one Résumé Review session. (Please Note: Résumé Review sessions are conducted on Saturday only.)

Focus Sessions (Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22)
We've put together an exciting lineup of Focus Sessions that hone in on information that can really make a difference in your personal and professional life. Learn from experts who work in and serve school districts all across Texas! Full Focus Session Details!

TCWSE Awards Luncheon (Saturday, June 21, Noon-2 p.m.)
Don't miss the TCWSE Awards Luncheon where everyone has an opportunity to participate in the annual recognition of outstanding TCWSE members and mentors. Special honorees are the recipients of the 2008 Margret Montgomery Leadership and Friend Awards, but get ready to cheer because we recognize accomplishments of all kinds, both large and small. Our keynote speaker is long-time TCWSE member and former Past President Elizabeth Clark, whose remarks will add a new dimension to Connecting Our Leadership Community.

Regional Roundup (Saturday, June 21, 3:45-4:45 p.m.)
This is a great time to share ideas with other regional TCWSE groups. TCWSE members from Region 4 will offer strageties for pulling in members and conducting meetings that will work in your region, too. After their brief talk, we'll gather in regional groups to discuss and build on these ideas.

Welcome Reception (Saturday, June 21, 5-6:30 p.m.)
Saturday closes out with TCWSE Summer Conference attendees, presenters, sponsors, and guests coming together at our Welcome Reception for relaxation and some good old-fashioned socializing. If you haven’t met everyone yet, you will by the end of this jazzed-up gala! It’s the perfect way to unwind after the day’s activities and hook up with friends both old and new.

Sunday Fare
The conference continues Sunday with a Breakfast and All-Member Business Meeting (7:45-8:45 a.m. — oh yeah, you CAN make it up in time for breakfast!) where TCWSE's incoming president outlines her goals for the coming year. Following breakfast, expand your conference experience with another set of Focus Sessions while you cement both new-found friendships and old ties.

1st General Session, UT/TASA Summer Conference on Education (10:30-11:45 a.m. — New This Year!)
All TCWSE Summer Conference Attendees are invited to attend the 1st General Session of the UT/TASA Summer Conference on Education, copresided over by the TCWSE and TASA Presidents.

Closing Luncheon (Sunday, June 22, Noon-1:15 p.m.)
We come back together for our Closing Luncheon and a rousing farewell that’s sure to send you home feeling professionally energized and personally recharged. You won't want to miss our keynote speaker Anita Pankake — her wit and wisdom brings our conference full circle as she addresses how Connecting Our Leadership Community expands to encompass the other people, networks, and events we encounter in our daily lives.
